Do You Have Valid Insurance?
Legitimate roofing contractors should have no problems providing upon request a copy of their insurance certificate. As with the license information, you should call the insurance provider indicated on the certificate and verify its legitimacy. The insurance certificate should clearly indicate that it includes coverage for general liability insurance and workers’ compensation; the former covers accidental property damage while the latter covers worksite injuries. Having both is your assurance that you won’t be held liable in the event that either happens.
Do You Have a Place of Business?
